It's Coming!
New addition to the family & more pics
Today we had lunch again at Granny and Grandpa Hemmert's house. I got to see them, Uncle Nick, Great Granny & Great Grandpa Kichler along with the newest addition to the family, Marsha...my Grandpa's new puppy. She is a German Wirehaired and a huntin' dawg! I wonder if she will give me big sugars like my Cricket?
Sweet 'Taters...YUM!
This weekend I had the opportunity to try one of nature's most perfect foods...the sweet potato. I really liked it a lot. It tastes much better than that nasty applesauce and the bland rice cereal I've been getting. I've been playing around in it (rice cereal) for about a month now, so Mom thought I could gradually start trying some new things. The Kichler side of my family should be happy that I love sweet potatoes since it is their livelihood. When I get bigger, I'll know where to get 'em!

My first Sausage Festival
Hello again everyone! I've been pretty busy lately learning how to roll from my back to my tummy (accomplished for the first time last Saturday) and how to sit up on my own. I am getting pretty good at the latter as I can sit leaning forward, but I can only hold it for a few seconds before toppling over to one side or the other. We are practicing every day, so look for updates in this area soon.
Today, however, was a very important day in the life of a child living in and around the Elberta, Alabama area. It was my very first Sausage Festival. It was pretty cool and breezy, so Mommy and Daddy bundled me up and packed me into the Baby Bjorn. I know I look uncomfortable, but I really do love this thing. It's the only way I can tolerate a trip to Wal-Mart these days. Anyway, back to the sausage...we only stayed long enough to get our sausages, walk around and visit some family/friends, and get a funnel cake for Mommy (the woman loves fried batter!). It was a good time. The sausages were delicious (or so they tell me), but they've gone up in price to $4.00 each. When Mom and Dad were growing up, you could get a sausage for half that price, but it's definitely worth the money if you've been waiting 6 months for the next fest to roll around. Native Elbertians can tell you that. For the next Sausage Festival (March '07), it will be on like a chicken bone! I'll be 10 months old and on the prowl. As you can see, the whole ordeal was too much for me and it was lights out on the way home. I did, however, manage to hang on to my rinky links during my entire nap. Sometimes I just can't get over how cute I am! Have a good weekend everybody!

Lunch at Granny's House
Par-tay!
Last night we went to my cousin Wayne's birthday party. I got to see a lot of people including my cousin Hannah. In the picture above with my Granny and her Granny, she was trying to pinch me! My cousin Rachel was also home from Auburn. WAR EAGLE! Isn't she pretty? She has really pretty long hair that I was very interested in! The 22nd is really Wayne's birthday. It was my Great Grandpa Hemmert's birthday too. I never got to meet him, but I know he would have loved me lots. He is just one of my guardian angels, along with my Paw Paw, that watch over me.

Getting ready for Halloween
I'm getting ready for Halloween with my new trick or treat bib. I also like to gnaw on me cereal spoon (as well as poke myself in both eyes with it as you can see from the cereal on my eyebrows and lashes). I pretty much just tolerate any solid foods right now b/c I know I'll get what I REALLY want right after. Mom's okay with that b/c the doc said her milk has more calories and nutrients anyway. So, I guess I get to keep playing with my solids for now.

Great-Grandpa turns 87!
Today was my Great Grandpa's 87th birthday. We all went to his house for pizza and cake. Mommy had mine for me. I wasn't feeling too good (runny nose), but I had fun seeing everyone and playing with my cousin Hannah. Here are some pics of us with Grandpa. His name is Fred too! Only my Great Granny gets to call him "Fred-dy"!

Happy Boy
Mom and I just hung around the house today. The weather was very yucky. Here are some pictures of me playing with my toys. I am a pretty happy boy most of the time and I just talk all the time. I love to hear myself squeal! Don't I look like I'm up to something in one of the pictures? I was thinking about all of the stuff I'm going to get into when I learn to crawl. Mommy and Daddy won't even know what hit 'em...I'll be the second coming of Hurricane Frederick!
